Alfie loves a good snack. In fact, it’s a bit of a running joke amongst our family and friends that Alfie is always eating! As you may be able to tell by my photos, he’s a big boy – very tall and grown up for his age! He’s always been a good eater, from the day he was born and breastfed to when we started baby led weaning.
A bonus of him being a good eater is that he’s not really fussy but as many mums knows, it can still be a struggle sometimes to get good, healthy, wholesome food into the best eaters (unless he’s at nursery…he eats anything they give him!) So when I was asked if I wanted to try out some new healthy snacks on the market, I jumped at the chance!
Googly Fruit was founded by parents just like you and me who know that a busy lifestyle can mean you don’t have time to wash and chop healthy fruit and veg for your littles, and sometimes you just need to be able to grab something quick on the go – but you still want to pump your babies full of goodness! Googly Fruits are yummy children’s snacks that are ideal for eating on-the-go. Googly Fruit combine fun packaging and shapes with healthy ingredients to produce products such as crunchy puffs, real fruit made crunchy squeezy fruit pouches. They are organic too with no artificial colourings, preservatives or added sugar in any of our products – meaning your kids can eat them guilt free!
We received a lovely little box packed full of goodies! I had to wait until Alfie was in bed to open the box and then hide them otherwise he would have wanted to sample them all straight away!
We were sent a variety of products including Corn, Strawberry and Banana Crunchy Puffs, Apple and Blueberry Crunch and Apple, Mango and Peach squeezy pouch.
There was such a good mix of foods and flavours, I was really impressed. I loved the way the crunch variety has a resealable top so they can be picked at throughout the day (although useless to Alfie, he loved them so much, the pack was devoured in a few minutes!) I also thought the pack sizes were very generous compared to other snack companies – you are really getting your monies worth!
Alfie’s favourite was definitely the fruit smoothies, as he loves anything he can suck from a pouch, but to be honest there wasn’t anything he didn’t like. I sampled all of the crisps, you know, to give an honest review, and they really were delicious!
Everything was easy to chuck in the changing bag and then leave there for a few days to be eaten on our days out. It was one less thing to worry about and I knew I always had food available when needed. We used them at soft play, whilst out shopping, having a picnic and even during a christening!
We were also sent a lovely book of different fruits and vegetables which is a fabulous learning resource (there were even things in there I’d never heard of!) We had great fun reading that to baby Henry and then using the googly eyes to make our fruit into friends!
Overall, we don’t have a bad word to say about this new range of snacks – if you want something quick and healthy, definitely pick up some Googly Fruit from your local supermarket (currently stocked at Ocado and Superdrug).
