It is really October already?? This year seems to have flown by, but September has gone in the blink of an eye. It seems only yesterday we were getting dolled up for my brother’s wedding on August bank holiday. And now we’re starting to buy Alfie’s winter wardrobe and I’m wondering when the built in baby radiator is going to kick in because I am feeling cold ALL the time!
We had another fab month in September – here’s what we’ve been treasuring this month:
Babies
We had lots of exciting baby news this month! First my little niece was born. She was a few weeks early but is doing well and we can’t wait to go and meet her! She is the first girl on my side of the family and she sure is going to be looked after by all her boy cousins!!
We also found out we were expecting another boy. We are beyond excited and can’t wait to welcome a baby brother for Alfie.
Little Scrummers
Alfie started a new hobby this month. Being a Jones, rugby is the only sport he could possible be in to, so we took him along to a trial sessions at our local Little Scrummers. It was fantastic and Alfie really enjoyed himself. There is a father and son coaching team and they are really great at engaging with the kids, giving them rugby based activities to do but not overwhelming them with complicated games. Alfie is only 2, so I did wonder what they woulddo to entertain and engage without being too much but they really do get it spot on. We immediately signed up to the first time and have been a few times now. It’s an early start, so we find sometimes Alfie is a bit grumpy as he’s tired but I’m hoping as he gets uses to it, he’ll overcome that and enjoy it more.
Family
We’ve spent a couple of weekends withour family this month, firstly attending a charity BBQ at Craig’s cousin’s to raise money for a race she is competing in. This was great fun as there was a little quiz and a raffle too!
We also had my nephew stay for a sleepover one weekend which Alfie loved! He loves spending time with his cousins and when he went home Alfie spent the evening walking round the house asking where he was!
Parties
Alfie attended a fab pirate themed birthday party for our friend’s step-son last month. He looked great dressed up in his outfit (no, mummy and daddy didn’t dress up on this occasion!) and had a blast on the bouncy slide and eating all the yummy bbq food!
BML17
I attended my first blogging conference at the end of September. I was a mixture of excited and nervous – excited to go and learn some great tips to apply to my blog, but nervous to be in a room full of lots of super bloggers. I met some fab people, but also saw lots of people that I was too nervous to go and say hello to! I was very glad I had Mrs Lighty to hang around with, and we ended up doing all the same sessions too, so at least I had a friendly face to talk to all day! I decided to give the BiBs Awards a miss in the evening as it didn’t finish until late, and I had a long journey home, but I heard it was a great do. I’ve heard mixed things about the conference this year in relation to previous years, but as a first timer, I have to say I really enjoyed it and would attend again if finances/childcare allows!
September flew by, but we didn’t seem to do a huge amount! I already know October is going to be a busy one, so it was nice to have a less busy month for once. We have lots of plans for the rest of the year including decorating, organising baby stuff, and of course Christmas!! Come back next month to see what we’ve been getting up to.
