June has been a pretty awesome month for us, and we have been up to a LOT of stuff! The best thing probably being that we BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!!! You may have seen me mention a few things here and there about moving, but we finally did it so I’m ready to shout it from the rooftops. Our first owned property, that we can do what we want to. It’s been hard work but we finally got there and we couldn’t be happier!
We’ve also been getting up to lots more this month – here’s what we’ve been treasuring:
We went to two wedding receptions in a row this month! Both for two of my gorgeous sing and sign mummies – they actually got married on the same day, but one got married in the UK and then jetted off to Cuba for their honeymoon, and the other got married in Santorini and then had a brilliant UK wedding reception. The first one was child free so I REALLY enjoyed my night off and drank a whole bottle of Prosecco thanks to the bad influence of a fellow mummy (not that I needed much persuading ha!). The second one Alfie came with us so it was a bit less boozy, but a lot more dancy – the kid loves to bust a move!!
We moved house! After 6 long months of waiting, we finally moved into our very own home. It all went very smoothly (apart from the fact we were still packing up as the removal men arrived!) so now we just have the task of finding a home for everything. Most things have been unpacked, we just have those odd boxes of crap that don’t really have a home, but I can’t throw out either! We have lots of plans for the house eventually, but for now we are just doing to enjoy living in our new home as a family and make plans for what we want to do next year.
This month we celebrated Father’s Day! We had a lovely morning unwrapping presents and just chilling round the house before heading to my sister’s for a bbq with my dad and family. It was soooo hot that we all sat around melting and I don’t think the food was really appreciated (sorry!). The evening before we had Craig’s family round for dinner to celebrate and see the new house which was a lovely evening after a frantic morning trying to unpack so they somewhere to sit!
We attended a local children’s festival at the end of the month called 3ft People Festival. We went last year and had a ball, however the weather was a bit miserable this year and as Alfie hadn’t been well, I don’t think we enjoyed it as much. Don’t get me wrong, we still had a great day, and there was lots to do. We just seemed to get round it really quickly and ended up leaving a lot earlier than expected which was a shame. However, it wouldn’t put me off going again, and lots of our friends went on sunny days and had a blast!
So not exactly something to treasure, but Alfie came down with chicken pox this month! It had been doing the rounds at nursery, and this seemed to be a particularly bad outbreak so we had a feeling he might get it. Thankfully he’s been ok with it, just very very spotty. He was off nursery for a week, which when you’re both full time working parents can be a little tough to juggle! But both Craig and I took time off work to be with him and it was nice to enjoy some time at home, playing in the new garden and just chilling out. Alfie has now returned to nursery with all his other spotty friends!
Next month is Alfie’s birthday, so we are going to have LOTS to share in our July edition!
