So you may have noticed that I haven’t exactly kept up to date with my Times to Treasure posts recently. In fact, I haven’t done any this year at all – bad blogger!! This is because I’ve had a bit of a blogging slump, and our weekends have been taken up doing boring adult things after the excitement of Christmas! I have also just been super busy with life, and so blogging has fallen by the wayside.
However, I really miss my Times to Treasure posts, and don’t want to stop them completely, so I am just going to have a bit of a change up of how I do them. Instead of posting weekly, a will do a monthly round-up on the first Monday of the month with what we have got up to the previous month. Hopefully this means I can keep up with the posting more, and the post will be filled with lots of fun things we have done over the past month!
I’m also going to do more reviews of the places we visit – so there will be a general round up as well as individual reviews of the fabulous places we visit. As we spend most of our time in and around Essex, it will be nice to have an index of these visits.
The plan is to start this from next month, and I’ll do a round up of what we have been up to in March. But, for now, here is a quick round up of our January and February antics!
January was a busy month. There were a few sad times with the passing of my beloved Nanny Badger, but this meant lots of family time. And when the family get together, we always have good fun reminiscing about the old days, usually over a glass, or bottle (or two) of Prosecco, which Nan would have definitely approve of! Both Nanny and Grandad Benson had birthdays, and I also attended a baby shower for my wonderful friend! Then we had the usual outings to the park, soft play and not forgetting meeting Peppa Pig! Auntie Emily also took us to walk the dogs and Mummy and Alfie did some baking!
February was not the best month – we spent a good 2 weeks of it fighting a sickness bug, and dealing with the inevitable clear up/bleaching/washing of the house and it’s sick covered items. Not something I want to go through again any time soon (or ever, actually!) This meant we didn’t get out and do very much, but again we tried to get Alfie out for as much fresh air as possible, including a trip to Colchester Zoo for a special breakfast with some of the zoo’s cheeky characters. Of course, Alfie was petrified of the giant cuddly animals, and refused to go near them so no photo was taken! It was our last trip to the zoo for a while as our annual passes have run out, and we haven’t renewed them for now, but hopefully we will be back in the summer for lots of fun! We also took a trip to Tropical Wings, which is a mini zoo closer to us.
So that was a quick round up of our adventures so far this year! March was a bit more exciting, I promise!
