Something About…Christmas: with Freddie’s Mummy UK

It’s the final week in the run up to Christmas now, so I’ll be posting a blog every day this week for my Something About…Christm Ch series!

Today we’ve got Freddie’s Mummy UK sharing her Christmas traditions! You can check her out on Facebook and Twitter.

Christmas This or That

Real tree or fake tree? Real tree every time
Perfect colour scheme or mis matched decorations? Perfect! I am a bit of a perfectionist!
Giving presents or receiving presents? (be honest!!) Giving, the look on my sons face especially is amazing.
Stocking or no stocking? Stocking!
Presents in the morning or afternoon? OMG surely people don’t wait until the afternoon!! Morning definitely!
Christmas Magic or the Grinch? Christmas Magic, we all absolutely love it!
Do you love or hate wrapping presents? I hate wrapping, although I am going to try this year and enjoy it and make it special.
Christmas at home or away? Home every time
Christmas shopping early or last minute? Early, it is my son’s birthday on the 27th so I need to be super prepared.
Christmas jumpers – cool or cheesy? Cheesy, but we all have them!!

How Do You Do Christmas?

When does your Christmas tree go up? And how long does it stay up for? It goes up on my birthday (5th December) and normally comes down on the 2nd Jan, it is sending me mad by then.

Do you do any Christmas baking? If so, what is your favourite thing to make? We have already made our Mary Berry Christmas Cake ( and in December we will make loads of mince pies and shortbread.

What is your favourite Christmas craft or activity, or is there something new you’d like to try this year? Hmm not sure, Freddie has been homeschooled since June this year so we will be making lots of new and exciting Christmas crafts this year. Our favourite activity is the North Pole Breakfast ( when the Elf on the Shelf arrives!

Do you visit Father Christmas? If so, where are you going this year? We have every year, but I am not sure we will this year.

What is your favourite Christmas memory? I have always hated Christmas until I had my baby, which is why we go overboard with it!

Do you have any Christmas traditions? What’s your favourite? We have the Elf on the Shelf ( but other than that we just make it up!!

What do you wear on Christmas day? Do you dress up, wear a cheesy Christmas jumper or stay in your pjs? Dress up! We have stockings on our bed as soon as we wake up, and then get all dressed up and have breakfast before opening the presents under the tree.

Do you have turkey for dinner or something else? I prefer to have turkey, but my hubby hates it, so we have had a 5 bird roast the last couple of years. I think this year though we might have beef.

How has Christmas changed for you since having children? Oh wow loads, it is all about the kids for me, and our Christmas is so magical.

Finally…What do you want Father Christmas to bring you this year? Slippers! Oh god I am so old and boring!!
