Now the summer seems to have properly arrived, we’ve been spending a lot more time in the garden. The massive garden was the main selling point to me when we bought this house last year, so we make sure we spend as much time in it as possible!
Alfie loves his paddling pool, and as soon as the sun comes out he’s badgering us to go swimming! I had been looking for some toys for him to play with in the pool to keep him entertained, so when I was sent the Gobble Gobble Guppies from Swimways, they couldn’t have come at a better time!
The purpose of the toy is for the shark to capture the floating fishes by squeezing the trigger so he opens his mouth and gobbles up the four brightly coloured guppies.
Alfie absolutely loved this toy and tried to open it a soon as I showed it to him! He was able to work the trigger press all by himself and had a ball pushing it round the water trying to catch the guppies! He decided it was most fun to slide into the pool with the shark and then catch the guppies that had gone in all directions from his big splash!
Not only is this a brilliant, fun toy, but it’s also great for counting and teaching him colours. We would count the guppies as the shark caught them and also play games by calling out the different colours for him to find and catch. I love that Alfie can play with this by himself but also I can use it as an educational toy to get those extra learning lessons in!
This has been a fab toy to use during the half term holidays, and we hope to get a lot more use out of it over the summer! We’re not going on holiday this year, but if we were this is a brilliant toy to take away because it can tuck away easily in your suitcase without taking up a huge amount of space.
Overall, we think this is a lovely, fun toy that is educational without trying too hard. Perfect summer fun for pre-schoolers!
**We were sent this toy for review but all opinions are my own.**
