I am that typical mum who likes to dress her boys in matchy matchy. Now, admittedly I don’t do it often, mainly because most of Henry’s clothes are Alfie’s old ones so he doesn’t need new clothes, but also because they’re so different in style, size, build and personality, I don’t often see clothes that I think will suit them both. I tend to try to co-ordinate, but I do love matching sibling t-shirts. So when we were asked if we would review the new brother range from Teether.co.uk, I jumped at the chance! They were the perfect way to match the boys without matching them head to toe.
Alfie and Henry have just grown out of their matching brother t-shirt so I was actually on the lookout for a new set. The ones I’d come across previously were all blue or grey, which were nice, but nothing really exciting! When I was shown these t-shirts from Teeter, I loved them straight away. Both t-shirts are a crisp white colour, with a rose gold foil transfer saying “Big Bro” and “Little Bro”. Considering both boys are so different, the t-shirts look great on both of them! The fabric of the shirts are so soft and Alfie even commented “ooo my t-shirt is cosy!”
Size wise, I generally struggle buying clothes online for Alfie because he isn’t a one size fits all kind of boy. He’s very tall for his age, so at 3 years old he’s wearing anything from a size 4-5 years to a 5-6 years, depending how long I want it to last, and where it is bought from! I went for an age 4-5 years as I wanted it to fit, but didn’t necessarily need it to last until next year! However, I was pleasantly surprised at the generous sizing of the t-shirt. It’s long enough that it doesn’t ride up on him, but big enough that it’s not too slim fit or tight on him. Henry is slightly easier to buy for, however he is positively “average” so at 14 months, is the smaller end of 12-18 months. I went for age 1-2 years for him and as you can see from the photos, it’s a bit long on him, but not massively so.
We had a very fun afternoon running round Nanny’s garden, playing with the (ornamental) cows that sit in her garden and generally getting dirty! Being white t-shirts, it might not be the most sensible colour to put two active, messy boys in, but it did give me the chance to really put them to the test. I loved how soft and bright these t-shirts were straight out of the packet, so I do always worry about washing them and losing their softness or crisp colour. With transfers as well, I feel it’s always a worry that they will stay as fresh. I’m pleased to say that after the first wash, they still look as good as new! I washed these in a normal wash with other white clothes, without any stain remover or brighteners, and they still came out looking as bright as before. They do need a bit of an iron to look perfect, but equally you could get away without one depending how smart you want them to look (can you tell I’m not a fan of ironing….) There also doesn’t seem to be any shrinkage from either t-shirt which is good.
Overall, I am very pleased with these t-shirts, and they’re a fab addition to the boys wardrobes. Alfie loves being a “big bro” and has asked for him and Henry to wear them on numerous occasions (including to nursery which was a big fat no!!).
These tshirts were gifted to us for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.
