As anyone with a 2 year old knows, they love making a mess, be it with paints or water or crafts. The one thing all kids love doing is making a mess with food and Alfie is no exception!
When Bibetta sent us one of their Ultrabibs and Placemat to try out, I knew Alfie would definitely be able to put it to the test. We decided to make one of our favourite quick and easy lunches – mini pizzas!
The placemat was the perfect base to start our pizzas. It’s large enough to put all the ingredients by the mat and have Alfie build the pizzas without getting food all over the table.
I toasted the muffins and then gave them to Alfie to build his favourite pizza. First he squeezed on and spread the tomato puree. This is usually the time I have a mini heart attack as the red stuff gets everywhere! But whilst wearing the Bibetta Ultrabib, Alfie stayed pretty clean – which was fab considering he was wearing a white tshirt!!
Then Alfie put on his cheese and pepperoni and I toasted the pizza under the grill. Then came the best bit – eating them!!
As you can see, Alfie enjoyed this bit the most! He really got stuck in and there was tomato sauce everywhere. But I wasn’t stressing because I knew the bib would keep Alfie’s clothes clean and the placemat was keeping my table clean! #messnostress
I was thoroughly pleased with how well the bib and placemat kept the mess contained and the great thing about the material being neoprene is it’s easy to wash – just chuck it in the washing machine and it was ready to go for our next mealtime.
Alfie loved the car design of both products. In fact, the placemat kept him entertained whilst he was waiting for his lunch to come out to him so it was a definite hit!
We really loved both the bib and placemat and would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to take the mess stress out of mealtimes. We’ll be getting another set for Henry when the time comes for weaning.
On the subject of Henry, we were also sent this plush newborn bib for him. I am in love! It is honestly the softest bib I have ever felt. I’m not usually someone who uses bibs when feeding milk, as I just forget to put it on. But this bib has been brilliant at mopping up milk spillage when Henry falls asleep and dribbles it out or when he’s being greedy and spits up the excess milk. Another fab product from Bibetta!
