As Real Nappy Week kicks off today, I thought it would be the perfect time to talk about our cloth nappy journey with Henry!
Before he was born, I knew I was definitely going to use cloth nappies again. I liked using them with Alfie, although I wish I had used them more and for longer – we stopped whem Alfie turned one and I went back to work.
This time, I’m determined to use them more than we use disposables. I’m not sure if we will ever use them full time, but to be honest that is the great thing about real nappies – it doesn’t have to be an all or nothing situation. Using just one cloth nappy a day, you are reducing the amount of nappies that go to landfill, providing a soft, comfortable nappy for your baby’s bum and saving yourself money – what’s not to love!
I have been using Close Pop-in newborn nappies from Babipur this time round and am absolutely loving them. Henry is just growing out of them so I’m taking advantage of Babipur’s special offers this week to buy some Close birth to potty nappies – I’m hoping they’re just as great!
So far I have been using cloth about once a week all day, and I’ve been trying to use at least one cloth nappy a day. To celebrate Real Nappy Week 2018, I am going to try and use cloth nappies full time for the week.
I have finally caught up on my washing, the sun is shining so I can dry everything quicker and what better week to throw myself in at the deep end than RNW!
Follow me on social media where I am going to try and post a photo of which nappies we are using every day – I’m hoping my Instagram is going to be a cloth nappy takeover this week!
I’m also going to be sharing the series of posts I wrote during RNW2016 when I was cloth bumming Alfie, plus trying to write some new posts this week!
I’m looking forward to this challenge and seeing how far I can go in using cloth full time (including overnight!). Wish me luck!
