I know lots of people are divided when it comes to pregnancy announcements – some people love them, some people hate them! Some people do a simple scan photo on Facebook, while some people go all out and create something unique and personal to tell the world they’re expecting a baby. I love a good pregnancy announcement, and have to admit both times I’ve been pregnant, I’ve put a lot of thought in to how we would announce our special news.
With our first pregnancy, we were announcing our pregnancy around Christmas time, so we decided to do something Christmas themed! We had told our family a few weeks before our scan, and then we had a Christmas dinner at our house with a big group of friends. We organised a secret santa and had rigged it slightly so Craig and I had to buy presents for each other. We all sat in a circle and one by one went round and each opened our presents. Craig and I were the last ones and opened ours at the same time to reveal baby vests with our news!
It was a really fun way to announce our pregnancy, and everyone was so shocked! Then for our facebook announcement, we went with a little Christmas theme by using the tree.
This time round, we obviously had to involve Alfie in some way. We bought this amazing tshirt from Tailored With Love to announce it to our parents, and then created this superhero themed photo for our other family and friends. Craig is a bit superhero mad so it was very apt for us!
My best friend is also pregnant, so I wanted a special way to announce it to her. I told her I’d bought a little gift for the baby, and as she unwrapped it, out came these two baby vests, with separate tags attached saying “Baby D” with the due date and “Baby Jones” with the due date!
It was very funny as it took her ages to cotton on – she read the first tag and was busy taking photos and then her husband noticed the second tag and told her to read it! Still took a little while to sink in!! Again, these fab baby vests were created by Tailored With Love. I can’t wait for the babies to be here so we can dress them in their matching vests!
I asked my fellow bloggers for their pregnancy announcements and got sent some amazing reveals – each one unique and fun and amazing in it’s own way.
I love these Christmas themed ones:
Lots of people use siblings to create a lovely announcement:

I love when people use a personal twist that sums up their family:
My husband announced it with this picture. The most naval way he could. (We are both in the Royal Navy). So we went for the way you would say about a new ship/sub being built. Hull 2 because it’s second child. And shows the sub coming out of the build shed like a baby!
Some people use videos for their announcements:
How did you announce your pregnancy? I’d love you to share some photos!
