Any parent with a child or children at school or nursery knows how important it is to name EVERYTHING so it doesn’t get lost or mistakenly taken by another child. That is why parents spend hours labeling their children’s clothes, shoes, bags, cups – anything that has a flat surface and can be labelled – before they return to school. That’s where My Nametags come in. They take the hassle out of this mundane task.
My Nametags are a company who “aims to provide the best nametags in the world“. This is quite a claim to live up to! They have a fantastic website, where you can select from a range of products, including stickers, iron-on stickers, colour or black and white, as well as Hello Kitty and Mr Men special editions.
We were sent a pack of design your own colour stickers to review. We had to go through the ordering process and design the labels however we wanted. The website is so easy to use, and includes helpful tips along the side about how best to create your labels. For example, it is best to put first name and second name on a separate line to make the label easier to read.
There are tabs at the top to separate each step – so first you write and customise your text, then choose your design and then the background colour. The final tab gives you some examples of how to set out your label.
We entered our text, and then chose the font and colour of the text. Next we chose the design to go on the label – this is a little picture next to Alfie’s name. Honestly, it took me about half an hour just to pick a picture because there was so much to choose from! We settled on a rugby ball and then picked a blue background with spots.
Once we had placed our order, it only took a few days to arrive. The speed of the delivery was very impressive!
The labels arrived in a plastic wallet that had instructions on how to apply them to the item you wish to label. As they are stickers, they can be put on pretty much anything! They need to be applied to the silky care label of clothes rather than directly on to the fabric, but other than that, you can put the labels anywhere! I was very excited to test them out and got sticking.
Firstly I labelled up a few of Alfie’s nursery clothes. He has a uniform top for nursery which makes it easier to decide what to dress him in, and then a load of jogging bottoms. I had started to label his clothes with sew-in labels, but this was so time consuming, and as you can see, the label had come away after a few washes! So I started to just write with a pen on the care label, but even this had started to fade.
So I replaced these with the My Nametags label which was a much easier process. But of course, the proof is in the wear!
How have they held up? Well, these photos were taken after 2 weeks use, where the clothes were washed at least 3 times a week. As you can see, the labels are still there and we’ve not had any fall off or even move! I am so impressed so far.
I also used them to label other items such as his wellies and his drinking cup. it seems everyone has a Munchkin 360 cup (because they are fabulous!) so when we are out with friends and family we have to keep an eye on where it is so they don’t get mixed up. Now it will be much easier with a label on it.
These have also been on for 2 weeks and no signs of wear or them coming off yet, so again I am very impressed.
The sheet contains 56 stickers, so these are going to last us a long long time. At £11.95 plus £1 p+p, I make that extremely good value for money.
