Best Teacher Gifts 2019

It’s that time of year again where you will no doubt be looking for gifts for the wonderful people in your child’s life who take care of them on a daily basis – be in their class teacher, a nursery worker or a childminder.  I know the question of teacher gifts can be controversial sometimes and it can be difficult to know what level of gift to give and who exactly to give to.  We don’t usually give an end of term gift to Alfie’s nursery workers because he goes all year round, however this year he will be leaving for big school so we will be spoiling the lovely ladies who have looked after him for so long with some lovely gifts!  Below, I’ve rounded up the best teacher gifts of 2019:

Ada & Alfred Tote Bag

It’s always great to give something useful and with the zero waste lifestyle and reducing plastic waste at the forefront of everyone’s mind, this resusable tote bag is a great gift!  The lovely Alex at Ada and Alfred has created two different slogans inspired by teaching. These would be great for taking books home in (or all their end of term gifts!)

Buy A Gift Thank You gift box*

Sometimes you may not know your child’s teacher very well, so you want to get them a gift they can close themselves.  A voucher is always great, but what I love about this special Thank You gift box from Buy A Gift is there are so many different experiences to choose from.  Whatever the recipient is in to, they are bound to find an activity that suits!

A Sweet Treat

If you are looking for a gift that can be given as a group gift – perhaps to the whole room at nurs, or the dinner ladies or reception and office staff of a school, then chocolate is surely a winner.  However, you’ll want something a little bit special and this Lily O’Brien Chocolate selection* is the perfect solution! With flavours such as caramel and sea salt, salted almond and crispy butterscotch, there’s going to be something for everyone!

SEAMS Hand Cream*

All most hardworking school or nursery staff want is some luxurious hand cream to help keep their hands soft after all that hand washing and playing with play dough!  The gorgeous cream from SEAMS was originally created for seamstresses to be able to sooth their cracked hands without getting oil on the fabric, but now it’s aimed at anyone in a hardworking environment.  As a sewer myself, I love this back story! It is a lovely gift to give on its own or as part of a pamper hamper!

Tipple of Choice

Perhaps a general sweeping statement, but I’m pretty sure most teachers and nursery staff like a good drink after a hard day at work – I certainly would after entertaining 30 kids all day long! A bottle of wine/gin/vodka is sure to go down well, or why not mix it up and give a few mini bottles of different drinks!

Every teacher I know LOVES their stationery.  Be it notepads or pens or quirky stickers, there so much to choose from, you’re bound to pick something your teacher will like! Not only is it an easy present, you can’t really go wrong!

Thanks for Helping Me Grow*

What better gift to give than a personalised plant pot with a plant to thank our child’s teacher or nursery worker for helping them to grow.  I bought this Royal Horticultural Society Personalised Plant Pot SetRoyal Horticultural Society Personalised Plant Pot Set from The Personalised Gift Shop and had them personalised with Alfie’s name and the nursery name so his nursery had a lasting memory of him.  I also thought it would be nice for them to have something lovely to put in their garden, after having planted some bulbs together.
