5 Festive Things I’m Doing This Christmas

In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m a HUGE Christmas fan.  I start planning in August and come December, I’m ready to celebrate in style!  I think there are lots of things you can do in the run up to Christmas to get you in the spirit of things! Here are 5 things I’m doing this Christmas:

1. Organising a Christmas Party

My day job is as a PA in an office, and this time of year I’m usually busy organising the office Christmas party!  I start visiting venues like this one here, chose the menu, organise a secret santa, and then pick my party outfit! Being on maternity leave this year, I have no office party to organise but I do have our annual Christmas lunch amongst our friends to organise instead! We’ll be going out for a Christmas lunch and then back to our house for some Christmas nibbles, mulled wine, hot chocolate and a few board games!  I love a bit of organising so I’m glad I have this to do instead of my usual Christmas Party.

2. Don A Christmas Jumper

Nothing says festive more than a Christmas jumper, and as all my friends know, I am a huge fan of the cheesy Christmas jumper! Come December, I will use any excuse to wear one – decorating the tree, Christmas photoshoot, wrapping presents, visiting Father Christmas…the list is endless! I haven’t bought one yet this year as I just can’t decide what to get!!

3. Wrap Some Presents

I know this is a love it or loathe it kind of job! I love the idea of wrapping presents – bit of Christmas music in the background, glass of Bailey’s or mulled wine and a tin of Celebrations and off I go!

4. Bake A Christmas Cake

I love baking, and I love Christmas cake, so if I get time to bake one I will!  I usually like to booze it up in plenty of time and then ice it with a pretty design.  I have to admit I’ve had a few failures but usually I get something half decent. I didn’t get time to make one last year and haven’t got round to doing it yet this year but there’s still time!

5. Have A Festive Drink

Of course everyone like a drink at Christmas time – but I don’t mean an alcoholic drink, I mean Christmas favoured hot drink from the likes of Costa and Starbucks!  I don’t drink coffee, but I love trying out the hot chocolates at Christmas time.  My favourite this year is chocolate orange – it really is the best!
