30 Day Blogging Challenge – Day 26

What is your favourite quote?

I don’t have a favourite quote, so I did a bit of research via Mr Google and have found a few quotes that speak to me!

I came across this one and immediately it resonated with me.  Since becoming a mum, I find I barely have any time to myself.  Being on maternity leave, I am with Alfie 24/7.  As I am breastfeeding as well, all the feeds, including night feeds are done by me.  I know that is what being a mum is all about, and I’m not complaining, I love it!  But sometimes it’s good for you to have some time alone, even it’s just half an hour with a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit to reassess what you are doing and where you are going in life.  I love making a list, so I often make a list things I want to achieve – it might be something as simple as clearing out my old clothes in my wardrobe – but it makes me feel better and I cherish those moment alone without a baby hanging off my hip (or boob!)

I LOVE this Winne the Pooh quote – I need to print it and frame it somewhere.  It is so true.  I honestly didn’t know I could love a tiny little being as much as I love Alfie.  Even when he’s whinging and crying for no reason, I still have such an incredible amount of love for him.  He’s changed my life like I could never imagine, and I can’t imagine my life without him now.  I know a lot of people often wonder how they can love another baby as much as their first, but I can honestly say I know my heart will only grow bigger and bigger to fill it with love for my children.

At first look, Dr. Seuss is a little strange.  His quotes can sound like gobble-de-gook!  But on a second look, he speaks a whole lot of sense.  I love a lot of his quotes, but this one sticks out.  It can often be easy to rely on others to get you somewhere in life, but truly only you can decide what you want to do in life, and how you’re going to achieve that.  You can ask others to help, you can use others for inspiration, but you need to get off your butt and get stuff done!  Trust me, you’ll feel a million times more accomplished if you help yourselves, rather than expecting things to do be handed to you on a plate.

My blogging challenge is drawing to an end now – only 4 posts left!
