Wednesday 7th June was a pretty monumental day for us.
At 10am we got the call from our solicitors to say we had completed on our first ever house purchase.
At 11.30am we picked up the keys to our gorgeous new home.
At 2pm, we discovered we’d be having an extra person joining us in our new home in the new year!
WE ARE PREGNANT!!!
I’d had a few suspicions for a week or so but early pregnancy symptoms are so similar to period symptoms, I didn’t really think anything of it. Then I got a notification on my phone to say I hadn’t logged my period for that month. That’s when I realised it hadn’t arrived! I did a test to see, and I have to say, both Craig and I were shocked but so happy! What an amazing day for us – first the house and then a baby! The next day we were doing the move, but Craig made me do a Clear Blue test just to make doubly sure the result was right. Sure enough, it flashed up pregnant, and then a few minutes later it flashed up 2-3 weeks. I worked out I was 3-4 weeks pregnant.
Obviously we were extremely excited, but we had a house to move into, so we put the excitement to one side, finished packing and moved our lives from one town to another.
We decided early on not to tell people straight away, so we started telling our family around 10/11 weeks, just before our scan. Of course, everyone said they already knew and had been discussing it for weeks! I guess that’s what happens when you continually tell people how broody you are and that as soon as you buy a house, you’re going to have another baby…
We had our scan last week, and all was well. Just the one baby in there (thankfully!) and a perfectly healthy one…albeit a little on the large side already it may seem. They dated me at 13+6 with an estimated due date of early February. We had already told Alfie our news, but I’m not sure he really understands it yet, although he does know there is a baby in Mummy’s tummy.
We are so excited for our new addition and cannot wait for our family of three to become a family of four.
