“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
– Kahlil Gibran
The Living Arrows linky is run by Donna of What The Redhead Said. It’s a weekly linky where you share a photo of your child/children from the week before. I’m aiming to join in every week so I can have a full 53 posts (hopefully) by the end of the year.
This week has been a bit of a mixed bag of ups and downs. Being a mother of two is HARD. Really hard. So I’m trying to focus on the good stuff that has happened this week.
Henry is getting so big! He turns 7 weeks tomorrow, has just gone in to size 2 nappies and has grown out of some of his newborn/first size clothes. I think this week I’ll need to sort out his 0-3 clothes! He’s been wearing a few baby grows that he got as gifts but they are still a bit too big. It’s so strange having an average/smaller than average sized baby when Alfie was so big! I think Alfie was almost going out of 0-3 clothes at this age.
I had a delivery of new clothes for Henry from The Little White Company this week. I’d been given a voucher from my work colleagues when I went on maternity leave and I’ve only just got around to spend it. I managed to get a fair few bits in their sale, but couldn’t resist this “Bobby Dog” comforter for him! Alfie’s comforter has been a big part of his life since he was a baby – he’s never seen without it! So we thought it was time Henry got his own one.
As I mentioned before, Alfie has been challenging this week. I’m trying to remind myself that it’s just his age and he is a lovely child 90% of the time. But that other 10% is really tough.
This photo was taken just yesterday after a really really horrid morning (that wasn’t actually to do with Alfie!) I managed to somehow get Henry to sleep and tidy the lounge, giving me one on one time to sit down with Alfie and do his sticker book. I know he really enjoyed it as he kept saying that we should do stuff together so I think he’s been feeling left out recently.
I’m hoping this week is going to be 100 times better than last week, but if it’s not then I still have two beautiful boys to be grateful for. I know things will get better soon.
